I have another week under my belt. The nausea has eased up a little bit, which has been great. I have found that the more activity that I do the less nauseous I feel. I have added in some cardio in the afternoon along with the workouts me and Jon are doing in the evenings. This last week for my afternoon cardio I have been doing : http://wp.me/p3wWp1-1Ag and for our evening workouts we are continuing on this plan : http://wp.me/p3wWp1-1xu
I still am weighing myself on a regular basis. I found this week I was up about 4 pounds. Word to the wise for any father’s to be reading this please be sensitive to your partner’s feeling on this. I told Jon I was up 4 pounds, his response : “I thought you read that you are not really supposed to gain any weight in your first trimester”. Not meaning anything by it he was shocked by my hormonal rage that followed this comment!! I know he was trying to just be helpful but I was not a happy camper after that comment. When I was not pregnant I took diuretics daily due to water retention. Now that I am expecting the Doctor had told me to no longer take them. I am sure the weight gain is just water but even if it is the odd bowl of ice cream I have been eating. Who cares?? Sorry for the rant, I thought I was over that one LOL.
Food wise I have been able to eat more things. I have started back on eating meat again. It is still not the thing I am craving but I know I need it. The worst craving has been the never ending craving I have had for McDonald’s but I have not done this yet. This past weekend my In Laws were visiting so we had many rich meals. I enjoyed every last bite and also had creme brulee on both nights. Tonight we will be having a family dinner at our favorite restaurant Il Tesoro http://wp.me/p3wWp1-1sj I am really looking forward to this one!!
Fashion is still not an issue but I have been checking out the online maternity sites. I am sure eventually I will start making purchases, but since my clothes are still fitting just fine I will wait on this. I will definitely post my first purchase when I have bit the bullet and gone through with it. The big question is: How do you know what sizes to buy?? If anyone has insight on this please let me know….
Well I do not feel like eating much but there are a few things that I am addicted to. If you have not tried these yummy snacks you have to:
Graters Ice Cream: My mother in law has 6 pints of this ice cream sent to me. This is now the night time treat that I look forward to every night. The Peach flavor is incredible, so is the salted caramel. It is not available in stores nationally but it can be ordered and delivered to your door! http://www.graeters.com/default.aspx
White Chocolate Wonderful by Peanut Butter & Co: This stuff is just amazing! If you love peanut butter you have to try this delicious spread made by Peanut Butter & Co. It is great by the spoonful, on crackers, in smoothies and on fruit. It is not just me that loves it Jon can eat half a jar in one sitting, believe me I have seen it! I buy mine at Whole Foods and other grocers. Here is their website: http://ilovepeanutbutter.com/
Key Lime Flips by Chobani: I have eaten this yogurt everyday for the last few days and could never get sick of it. It taste just like Key Lime Pie. You have yummy creamy lime chobani yogurt then you add graham cracker crumbs and white chocolate chips!! It is out of this world amazing. If you have not tried it you have to, believe me it is fantastic yogurt. Better than most desserts! http://chobani.com/goreal/
I will try to keep you updated on my latest food crazes! On a side note these are all my personal opinions and I have not received compensation from any of the mentioned brands! Happy Eating!
Well week 6 is now done and over with! So far so good. I have been able to keep up with my workouts. The one I did last week you can find here: http://wp.me/p3wWp1-1xu I still manage to have the energy to get to the gym almost everyday!
The worst thing about this past week was the all day long hangover style nausea. I wake up nauseous and it lasts till the evening. Most days after dinner I am good. I have learned that there are some things that really get me feeling yucky. I have learned not to think to hard about cooking dinner especially if it involves meat. Something about the smell and the juices (as I am writing this I have gone green!). I have had to adapt my very meat based diet to include more carbs! Normally I try not to eat a lot of starchy carbs but I have to it is for the baby!
When I found out I was pregnant I told Jon that I did not believe pregnancy craving actually existed. I was so sure that it was an excuse pregnant woman made to eat what ever they wanted. I was positive that I would not feel compelled to eat anything specific and would adhere to my normal clean eating diet. That was until I had been walking down the street and caught the smell of buffalo chicken wings. Chicken wings were all I could think about for days, I was getting cranky because of my hunger for them. I finally decided to embrace those moments and went out for chicken wings! Since then I have had chicken wings, pizza, lots of ice cream and the great part I have not really gained any weight…. yet.
This past weekend I slept 13 hours on Friday night and 13 again on Saturday night. Since this has not been a normal weekend thing for me since high school, I am sure it has something to do with this growing baby inside of me. I will accept it and sleep as much as I can. Who wouldn’t want this problem? I must be preparing for the little sleep I will be getting in about 8 months.
Now that week 6 is over I can not wait to see what week 7 has for me!
Hi everyone and welcome to my new blog. I already have a blog that I love http://nycfitfoodfashion.com/ please check it out! It has been a crazy couple of weeks. My husband Jon and I celebrated our 1 year wedding anniversary June 29th by going on a fantastic trip to Jamaica. This was also going to be the beginning of our journey into starting a family.
Well things went well to say the least and we are now on our way to becoming parents! My main passion are fitness, food and fashion, I hope to feature these subjects on this blog. I want to share with you how I will try to stay as fit as I can, eat healthy delicious meals and hopefully stay fashionable! There has to be stylish maternity clothes out there somewhere.
I am now entering my 7th week and have already noticed a few changes. Mainly the feeling that I wake up everyday with a constant hangover minus the drinking 🙂 Fitness wise I have been able to maintain my daily workouts so far and have not had to make any adjustments as of yet. Food is another story, anyone that knows me knows that I love to meat. I have developed an aversion to it as of right now even smelling it is an issue. So that can make dinner time quite interesting. I will be sharing in later posts some of the dinners we have been cooking to get around that and stay healthy. Fashion has not entered the equation as of yet. My clothes still fit perfectly and I hope it stays that way for a while!
Thanks for reading, I hope you join me and follow along on my blog here as take you with me on the journey through pregnancy!
